Books!

Hee those who know me knows that I'm a fantasy booknerd. In the past, whenever I go out I will have a book with me. Anyway to my sec school friends: do you rem how I encouraged everyone and anyone to read LOTR and Harry Potter but ppl just ignored me? Sigh it is indeed very discouraging to see how a movie can arouse ppl's interest to read but poor me's recommendation is just not enough.

Actually I do not like HP that much. The plot is good but the author seems alittle disillusioned by her fame etc. Books that I like, I will reread & reread &... you get the gist. So ahem! Here are my favourite books that I will happily recommend to anyone & everyone!

• The Dark Is Rising Series by Susan Cooper: http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/c/susan-cooper/ "Silver on the Tree: The Grey King; Greenwitch; The Dark Is Rising; Over Sea, Under Stone" A series much akin to LOTR, but more towards King Author's writings. I believe that there should be a movie in production.
• Earthsea Series: http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/l/ursula-k-le-guin/ "A Wizard of Earthsea; The Tombs of Atuan; The Farthest Shore; Tehanu" It is an epic of its own. Hayao Miyazaki, the animator behind "Spirted Away" has produced a movie on it. However, the movie has not reach S'pore yet I think.
